A simply written socio-emotional book that affirms children's feelings about missing Daddy. It draws on the healing and ever-present images in nature. The illustrator, Jim Finlan, has beautifully captured a mother spending the day at the park with her children to heal their spirits. The repetition and colorful images will appeal to even the very youngest of audiences. The reason for separation is never defined, only that Daddy misses them too. This book could be applied to many different situations involving a short or long-term separation. And could be used by parents, educators and care givers as a way to show children a positive and concrete way to cope with difficult feelings.

About the Author

Amy K. Potvin was born in the beautiful upper penninsula of Michigan. She still resides there with 3 wonderful children. The splendor of her surroundings holds special meaning for her. It has provided comfort and healing and she wanted to share that with others. She worked in Early Childhood Education for 6 years and now is a special education assistant in a Native American School. When tragedy struck her own life, it was her work and nature that once again led her to the path of healing. She hopes that this book will reflect the gifts she has been given by the amazing families she has been entrusted to serve. Her sincerest wish is that all children and their families will walk the earth in healing together.
